The Ugly Pond™ began more than 35 years ago as one of my most effective psychologically-based sales strategies. When a deal stalled, went quiet, or slipped into what I called the deadly dance of delusion (the Death Valley of Sales), my simple rule was: Go ugly. Go to NO — in order to get them back to a real YES.
It’s a completely unique approach to getting deals unstuck. And it’s just one example of the hundreds of non-traditional, psychologically-based concepts I’ve developed and taught to hundreds of companies and thousands of salespeople, consultants, business owners, professionals, and individuals who wanted to become more confident and effective at selling and influencing — without ever sounding like a traditional, sleazy salesperson.

Greg Bennett founded his own sales coaching and consulting firm in 1987, building a career grounded in psychology and human behavior. He’s trained organizations of all sizes—from large, medium and small sales organizations, to national consulting firms, to Fortune 500 giants. His client list also includes over 200 pro and collegiate sports teams, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
Greg is also the author of four books, including Consultative Closing and Make More Donuts.
He officially retired from full-time speaking and training in January of 2025, but his legacy lives on through this powerful online program.
