The Ugly Pond was the name of a sales strategy I created over 35 years ago — a way to handle deals that were stuck in the muck. When clients went dark or started doing their “deadly dance of delusion,” I had one mantra:
“Go Ugly. Go to NO.” That’s what it took to get them back to YES.
Now, I’ve taken that same no-nonsense approach and applied it to a much bigger challenge: Helping seasoned salespeople, consultants, and business owners navigate the massive upheaval that AI is creating in our careers.
Suddenly, people with deep experience and strong instincts are being forced to reinvent themselves — not someday, but now! The pace of change is brutal. The pressure is real. And the future is frightening!

Greg Bennett founded his own sales coaching and consulting firm in 1987, building a career grounded in psychology and human behavior. He’s trained organizations of all sizes—from large, medium and small sales organizations, to national consulting firms, to Fortune 500 giants. His client list also includes over 200 pro and collegiate sports teams, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
Greg is also the author of four books, including Consultative Closing and Make More Donuts.
He officially retired from full-time speaking and training in January of 2025, but his legacy lives on through this powerful online program.
